One of the most amazing painters of 20th century was Hans Rudolph Giger, who had a tremendous influence on computer game developers, he is also worshipped by fantasy lovers. Online since 2010 it is one of the fastest-growing and most respected music-related publications on the net. As a vibrant global force and a shaper of pop culture, Debbie’s chart-topping success, fearless spirit and rare longevity led to an induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame for Blondie in 2006.

The “Backfired” clip opened with Giger, dressed in ancient Egyptian garb, piercing a sarcophagus with swords. Fine art prints are editioned unless otherwise clearly indicated and come hand signed and/or embossed by the photographer or their Estate. The fantastical videos for two of the tracks on the album, ‘Backfired’ and ‘Now I Know you Know,’ featured Giger himself piercing an Egyptian sarcophagus and a newly brunette Harry reimagined as a xenomorphic Giger creature.Just his work ethic alone was so focused, he was a credit to anyone who considers themselves creative. For his part, Edwards had been a New Yorker since the age of ten, and had honed his musical awareness in the city’s array of small clubs. However, Giger was a fan of jazz rather than pop music, so he didn’t know much about Blondie, Harry, or their sonic output.

It is a curious project, where beauty combines with pain and life with death, just like in all visionary pieces made by Giger. When they decided to go on hiatus in 1981, Harry embarked on a detour into the world of acting, culminating in her finest acting performance in David Cronenberg’s 1983 film Videodrome. Stein chronicled the band’s early beginnings on camera, from the nascent New York punk scene to the international celebrities they worked with, including Andy Warhol. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. In contrast, some of the most striking are the colourful, outdoor photos of Debbie nonchalantly hanging out in the neighbourhood while looking a bit like the robot woman in Metropolis.

The book begins with pictures from the trio’s first meeting in New York – the Alien exhibition and socialising afterwards. Science fiction and ancient Egyptian cultures are extremely important for me, and I follow eastern spiritual and health practices, including acupuncture, so I’m geeking out hugging the book to my face. It continues with photos of the studio, work-in-progress Polaroids by Giger and his crew, and Giger’s drawings. KooKoo was produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic and marked Harry’s first foray into the music industry without the rest of Blondie.Harry wrote about this in Heavy Metal magazine, which often featured the artist, saying “Giger’s work has a subconscious effect: it engenders the fear of being turned into metal. His “biomechanik” artwork, sculptures, and storage drawers are wall-to-wall, his book collection haphazardly stacked on shelves and in the bathtub, (real) skulls are tucked into nooks and crannies, a set of doors inside the modest front door is covered with paintings of his trademark human-alien hybrid characters, and an Academy Award is filed between dusty objects on another shelf. Stein documents, most often in evocative black and white, an urban landscape filled with detritus yet teeming with life, from the avenues of midtown to the boardwalks of Coney Island. Debbie Harry picked up on the personal interpretation theme when asked to describe the album, explaining, “the words simply mean what they say. in the US, with two spin-off singles Backfired and The Jam Was Moving hardly making tills tinkle on either side of the Atlantic.
