The last few chapters of the book were my favorites as they really brought everything together and helped me see how the 5-Step Neurocycle program can really impact my life in exponential ways. Without question I still recommend this book (with a disclaimer about the title to my friends and family, haha! I haven’t finished reading it yet but based on what I have read so far, and based on Caroline’s previous work, I whole heartedly recommend everyone to get this book. In an earlier blink, we discovered that, in addition to getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising, mind management plays a role in a healthy lifestyle. I think I still would have loved for more examples on how the practicality may look like in real life. It is easy to read, has scientific knowledge in it, of course, but it is not bogged down with concepts that are out of an ordinary reader’s grasp.I had a mental breakdown at age 44 due to stress but since then stigma and prejudice hasn’t helped me to move past all the stinking thinking and consequences. In “Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess”, this biblical connection is completely absent, and I can’t figure out why. During a bubble bath one night, the author’s diamond earring – a gift from her children – fell into the water. A great way to understand the power of mind management is by envisioning mental mess as a car crash.
